O Christmas Tree
🎄O Christmas Tree
There are so many amazing things about Christmas: spending time with family, food, parties and decorating! One of the first ways I like to kick off the Christmas season is decorating my tree! Mixing textures, shapes and colors create a tree that feels collected and timeless. It’s not just about making it beautiful but filling it with memories, meaning, and of course a touch of me!
I want to share a few tips I’ve learned.
🎄First, I try to pick a few tones, a few shapes, and different sizes to keep it interesting. Texture is key as well. You don’t want all the ornaments the same. I like to mix wood, glass, and porcelain so it doesn’t seem boring. I also like to layer in strands of beads with decorative branches to add depth.
🎄Next, most don’t realize that balance is important. One of the most common mistakes people make is to decorate the front and forget the sides and the back of tree. It will draw more attention to the empty spaces throughout the tree. Make sure to fill it all in to give that full and balanced look.
🎄Lastly, find a tree topper you love! Whether it’s been passed down for generations or one that caught your eye.
The main thing is to have fun with it. Remember, there is no right or wrong way!

Take any ornament, new or old, cut the string or hook and tie a ribbon to the top. I LOVE to buy a spool of velvet ribbon with different widths! It adds so much to the ornament. I also love to use ornaments with the string of velvet in decorative bowls as well as garland on mantles to tie everything in.
